It is with undisguised emotion that I begin this new chapter in my life.

I have never been one of those who confide; I prefer to be silent, to listen… and to write.

To write, before anything else.

Therefore, this blog will be the starting point for my literary research and online adventure as a novelist.

Perhaps it will also be a form of outcome: each book that will relate to writing, to the imagination of the writer will be analyzed and listed within this blog, and it could be a place of exchange with you.

I’ll try to include the works that will have helped me build my novels: they could be other novels (an author is above all a reader), books, reviews, and scientific articles. I thought of continuing my Literature studies in doctorate and it is a dream that I will realize one day; I made that promise to the one who gave me everything, even my nom de plume: my grandfather.

If I think they are necessary, I’ll be keen to include the works I will study during my Psychology and Criminology degrees. These are two paths that I have never taken before, and I admit being torn between the excitement of discovering new areas of study and the fear of failure at school that has always gripped my guts…

I take advantage of this article to warmly invite you to subscribe to my monthly newsletter (on the 13th day, of course!) entitled A Descent into the Maelström:

To conclude I welcome you to my author’s blog and hope you’ll feel at home.

Looking forward to reading you,

Agnès Maelström

Agnès Maelström is a French author who writes supernatural horror novels portraying terrifying characters dealing with abuse, violence, and trauma. Fascinated with the Occult, she has been studying Witchcraft since childhood. Her debut novel, Porcelaine, takes place in 1993 in Danvers, a small town in Massachusetts built on the remains of the infamous Salem Village. The quiet town experiences a new period of terror when Sarah, a young girl whose sharp humor is matched only by the blade of her knife, meets Porcelaine, a bewitched doll.
